System Commentary:
Without a doubt, San Diego has one of the worst farm systems in WAU. While there are some names I like in the Top 10 (Giavotella, Schlereth, Lewis, Barbato), it's hard to envision them as being worthy representatives of most Top 10s in the league. Deeper down, the system thins out ridiculously quickly, and is so heavily reliant on auto-assigned San Diego AMAT prospects that it was difficult to find guys worth mentioning outside of those auto-assigns. I should point out that by #15 or so, I resorted to complete gambles, and by #20, I was annoyed enough to include Lance Zawadzki on a prospect list. Look Zawadzki up and you'll see why that's noteworthy. So, this Padres farm will live and die by the real-life Padres' last couple of drafts. And, given the lack of spending by real-life San Diego in those last couple of drafts, that's not a great thing.
