Detroit TWAUgers Top 20 Prospects

We're back in the AL East, where the Detroit Tigers are trying to maintain an above average farm despite recent prospect graduations and trades.  While Abe does a good enough job of hyping up his prospects, a slightly different take on his prospects is up after the jump.  As usual, there's individual grades for the prospects, followed by a system commentary.

System Commentary:
The Tigers have an unquestionably worse system than in years past, but it's still not exactly below average.  I'm fairly high on Britton and Kalish, but there are a few prospects in the system's mid-range that I'm not a huge fan of.  More specifically, I have a lot of concerns about Brandon Beachy's upside, Chris Archer's control, and Carlos Perez's risk.  I do like the farm's Grade C prospects, which run quite a few more deep than the 3 listed.  The Tigers have a lot of safe prospects here that should get at least MLB bench jobs.  Guys like Avila, Wells, and Green should be able to hold down backup jobs for the next few years.  As a whole, this system is definitely leaning more towards safety than ceiling, though that's not a terrible thing.
